A power sander is an effective eraser, covering and uncovering layers revealing new combinations of texture and color. I used a sander from 2005-2010, and now occasionally when reworking an old piece.

Memories float in and out of our conscious and unconscious life, reimagining, reliving the event can be pleasant or disquieting; sometimes the event twists into a different shape as the mind retells the story over and over.

My father is experiencing dementia and his past, present and invented world shift throughout the day, it is with curiosity that I watch and participate in this new reality that feels both both playful and mournful.
