Graphite Watercolor / by Judi Pettite

I love graphite—the texture, soft 8b-ish type graphite and the way it glides across the paper; the metallic-ish color, dark but not too contrasty like compressed charcoal.

Turning powdered charcoal into paint is easy and I prefer my handmade watercolor over the 'liquid pencil' variety found in art stores. The art store variety is too gloppy for me, this is how I came to make my own and use it in my drawings.
